Problems With The Sig Sauer P365 Nitron?

Sig Sauer P365 Nitron, the best concealed carry gun in the world?

Sig Sauer’s P365 Nitron is the Champion elect of the CCW world. It’s a brilliant firearm, but it keeps getting in its own way with some fundamental Quality Control issues that have hurt its reputation.

Now don’t get this wrong, there was a massive buzz round this 10+1 little gun that is tiny, yet sits perfectly in the palm of your hand. It’s some kind of witchcraft and it can redefine the EDC genre. It’s really got that much potential.

But only if it gets its shit together…

Striker firing pin fractures have affected new owners and there have been some very squeaky wheels on Youtube and blogs, asking if Sig Sauer has fed us a dud.

Sig Sauer P365 Nitron, a great EDC
“We have shipped tens of thousands of P365s with overwhelmingly positive responses not only from our commercial customers, but from law enforcement and professional end users around the world,” said an official statement.

“In my 25 years of law enforcement and industry experience, I have rarely seen this level of excitement and positive reception around any single firearm. Although there have been a limited number of striker and trigger return spring issues with this new platform, our return rates for these two parts are still extremely low…approximately 0.25% combined, which we believe is below industry standards for any type of return.

“The P365 has received an unprecedented amount of praise and activity both in social and traditional media. However, in the age of the internet, readers are sometimes exposed to grossly inflated or even non-existent issues. To address some of these concerns, we have compiled the most prevalent questions we’re seeing online and in our customer service department.”

There was a drop test failure, too, and these are small but important things. Sig Sauer is facing up to its responsibilities and replacing any damaged parts under warranty. But the P365 Nitron can’t quite take its place as the best CCW gun in the world until these issues get sorted once and for all.

You can back order a gun that will almost certainly come with a new, tougher firing pin now, but good luck finding one to order right now.. That tells its own story and we wouldn’t be at all surprised if Sig Sauer had put a stop on production to fix ongoing issues. They will.

The Geman company won’t let its customers down in the end, but it would have been so much better if this gun had come out the gate running. It’s an awesome little firearm and it can still go on to be the best concealed carry 9mm for sale anywhere. But Sig Sauer needs to iron out these problems and get its PR machine working overtime to regain this lost momentum. Then, most importantly, it needs to get this little gun into people’s hands so they can start making good Youtube videos about it instead.
