CZ Takes on the Glock 19
CZ has a long history of building excellent firearms, but most of their reputation was built on hammer-fired designs like the CZ 75 and the P-07. The P-10 C was their first serious attempt at a striker-fired, polymer-framed compact designed to compete directly with the Glock 19. They did not try to be subtle about it either. The P-10 C uses Glock 19 magazines, fits most Glock 19 holsters, and occupies the exact same size category.
The message from CZ was clear: we think we can build a better Glock 19 for less money. After spending considerable time with the P-10 C at the range and in a carry holster, I can say they came very close to delivering on that promise. But “better” depends entirely on what you prioritize in a handgun.

The CZ Trigger Advantage
The P-10 C trigger is one of the best factory striker-fired triggers on the market. It features a flat-faced design with a short take-up, a crisp and clean wall, and a break that snaps like a glass rod. The reset is very short with a positive click that you can both feel and hear.

The slide finish is a nitride coating that holds up well to holster wear and sweat. The overall fit and finish is good for the price point. You will not mistake it for a SIG Legion or an HK, but it feels well-made and tight where it counts.

The P-10 C is also slightly thinner at 1.26 inches versus the Glock’s 1.34 inches. That is not a huge difference, but every fraction of an inch matters when you are carrying concealed against your body all day. It also uses Glock 19 magazines, which means you have access to a deep pool of affordable, proven magazines.
On the range, the P-10 C is simply more enjoyable to shoot than a stock Glock for most people. The trigger makes fast and accurate shooting easier, and the ergonomics reward good technique.
What Glock Does Better
The Glock 19 wins on aftermarket support, and it is not close. There are hundreds of companies making holsters, triggers, barrels, slides, lights, and accessories specifically for the Glock 19. The CZ P-10 C aftermarket has grown in recent years, but it is a fraction of what Glock offers. If you like to customize your pistol, Glock gives you far more options.
Glock also wins on track record and institutional trust. The Glock 19 has been in service with military and law enforcement agencies worldwide for over 30 years. Billions of rounds have been documented through the platform. The P-10 C is a newer design without that same depth of proven history.
Holster availability is another Glock advantage. Walk into any gun store in America and they will have Glock 19 holsters on the wall. Finding a quality P-10 C holster usually means ordering online and waiting for shipping. This is getting better every year, but it is still a gap.
Reliability
The P-10 C has been reliable in my testing. I have run approximately 2,500 rounds through it with zero malfunctions using a variety of ammunition. Brass-cased range ammo, steel-case imports, and premium defensive loads all ran without issue.
Early production P-10 C pistols had some reported issues with trigger return springs and occasional light primer strikes. CZ addressed these issues in subsequent production runs. If you are buying a new P-10 C today, you should not encounter those early problems.
Is it Glock-level reliable? With a decade or two more data, it might prove to be. Right now, the honest answer is that the Glock has a longer and more extensively documented reliability record. The P-10 C is excellent, but it has not been around long enough to match the sheer volume of data behind the Glock 19.

Final Verdict: A Cheaper, Better Glock 19?
The CZ P-10 C is a better-shooting pistol than a stock Glock 19 for less money. That is not an opinion. The trigger is objectively crisper, the ergonomics are more refined, and the sights are higher quality out of the box. If you are purely evaluating how a gun shoots and feels on the range, the P-10 C wins.
But a pistol is more than just its range performance. The Glock 19 gives you an unmatched ecosystem of holsters, parts, training support, and institutional validation. For many buyers, that ecosystem is worth paying more for a gun that shoots slightly less impressively out of the box.
If you want the best-shooting compact 9mm for the money and you do not need to customize every part of your pistol, the CZ P-10 C is an outstanding choice. It delivers on its promise of being a better Glock 19, at least in the ways that matter most at the range and on the street.
