Last updated October 2026 · By Nick Hall, P365 owner with 1,200 rounds through the slide-comped XMACRO and a drawer full of holsters to prove it
Quick take: SIG Sauer has listed a new P365 called the P365-MACH3D, with a 3D-printed compensator fitted to a 3.4-inch bull barrel and an XMACRO grip that takes 17-round magazines. SIG says the comp cuts muzzle rise by up to 30 percent. SIG’s product page lists it at $899.99 and marks it coming soon, with no ship date.
- What it is: A 9mm P365 with a factory MACH3D compensator on a 3.4-inch bull barrel, an XMACRO grip module, a SIG-LOC COMPACT optic cut and two 17-round steel magazines.
- Price: SIG’s product page lists the two iron-sight SKUs at $899.99 and the ROMEO-X SKU at $1,249.99.
- Where: SIG’s own product page lists it as coming soon as of October 8, 2026, with no ship date.
- Why it matters: The compensator sits on the barrel instead of inside the slide, which makes this a 7.2-inch gun that is unlikely to fit the P365 holster you already own.
Most new P365s are a color, a grip texture or a slide cut on a gun you already know. This one changes the front end. We pulled the spec table straight from SIG so you don’t have to, and set it beside the P365s it will share a counter with.

What SIG Put on the P365-MACH3D
SIG’s P365-MACH3D product page leads with one line: “Factory equipped MACH3D compensator attached to a 3.4” Bull Barrel”. Everything else on the gun is built around that part.
SIG says the compensator “uses advanced additive manufacturing to port gases,” which is the industrial term for 3D printing. The claim that follows is the headline. SIG says the design creates a “neutral” return to zero, “reducing muzzle rise by up to 30%.”
That is SIG’s number, and SIG does not say what the 30 percent is measured against. The pistol has not shipped and we have not shot it, so treat the figure as the maker’s claim until independent testers put it on a timer.
The rest of the list reads like a P365 with the option boxes ticked. A Nitron-coated slide with what SIG calls “new aggressive slide serrations” and a SIG-LOC COMPACT optic cut. A flat skeletonized trigger, an extended slide release and a “detachable magazine funnel.” XRAY3 day and night sights, an XMACRO grip module with a 1913 rail and interchangeable backstraps, and two 17-round steel magazines.
One more line matters for some buyers. “This firearm is not available with a manual safety.”
Three SKUs, One Barrel Length
SIG lists three SKUs, all in 9mm Luger with the same 3.4-inch barrel. The 365XCA-9-BXR3P-M3D is the black gun. The 365XCA-9-M3D-CBT swaps in a coyote XMACRO grip module.
The third, 365XCA-9-BXR3P-M3D-RXSL, ships with a ROMEO-X SIG-LOC COMPACT circle dot already on the slide, alongside the XRAY3 irons.
For the two iron-sight guns SIG lists 7.2 inches overall, 1.4 inches wide, 5.25 inches tall and 23 ounces with a magazine. The ROMEO-X gun is listed at 7.25 inches overall and 23.3 ounces with a magazine.
The slide is stainless steel and the barrel is carbon steel. SIG’s page does not spell out whether the compensator comes off for cleaning or a different muzzle device, so I am not going to guess.
Where the P365-MACH3D Sits in the P365 Family
The obvious comparison is the gun whose grip it borrows. I have 1,200 rounds through that pistol in our P365-XMACRO review, and SIG describes its slide as “Integrally Compensated”, with the compensator built into the slide over a 3.1-inch barrel.
The MACH3D takes the other route. Its comp is a separate part on the end of a longer, heavier-profile barrel, and that choice shows up on the tape measure: SIG lists the P365-XMACRO COMP at 6.6 inches overall and the MACH3D at 7.2.
Here is the number that surprised me. SIG lists the P365-FUSE at 7.2 inches overall too, and the FUSE gets there with a 4.3-inch barrel. So the MACH3D is as long as the FUSE while carrying nearly an inch less barrel, because the compensator takes up the difference.
The P365 XL lands at the other end of the trade, with a 3.7-inch barrel, 6.6 inches overall and 12-round magazines on SIG’s base model. If the family tree is getting hard to follow, our P365 models guide lays out who is who.
The MACH3D isn’t a slide-comped carry gun and it isn’t a long-slide range gun. It’s a third thing, closer to the comped custom P365 builds people have been paying gunsmiths for than to the XMACRO it shares a grip with.
What a Barrel-Mounted Comp Means for Holsters
Length is where a compensator sends the bill. A holster molded for a 6.6-inch P365-XMACRO COMP was not molded for a 7.2-inch gun with a block on the muzzle.
Open-bottom holsters cut for the XMACRO might take it, depending on how the compensator’s profile compares with the slide. Closed-bottom shells built around a 6.6-inch gun will not. SIG lists no holster fit for the MACH3D, and until holster makers publish molds for it I would budget for a new one.
Width is the other figure to watch. SIG lists the MACH3D at 1.4 inches wide, against 1.1 inches for the base XMACRO COMP, the FUSE and the XL. SIG does not say where the extra width comes from, and on a gun you carry inside the waistband, three tenths of an inch is not nothing.
And if you carry appendix, 7.2 inches of gun is a different conversation from 6.6, because the muzzle end is the part that has to find room when you sit down in a car, bend to tie a boot or spend eight hours at a desk.
Who Should Wait and Who Should Buy Now
If you already shoot a red dot, run your P365 hard at the range and were pricing an aftermarket comp and barrel, wait. A factory compensator that SIG stands behind beats a parts-bin build, and the ROMEO-X SKU puts the dot on the slide for $350 more at list.
If you need a carry gun this month, buy a current P365. The standard P365, the XL and the XMACRO are in SIG’s catalog today with holsters, magazines and years of round counts behind them. The MACH3D has a product page.
But do not buy on the 30 percent figure alone. Compensators work with the gas they are given, and SIG has not published the test ammunition, the baseline gun or the method behind the claim.
It also follows the SIG P385, the new 9mm family we covered in September. SIG is not short of pistols to sell you this fall.
When You Can Buy a P365-MACH3D
The price is settled before the date is. SIG’s product page lists the black 365XCA-9-BXR3P-M3D and the coyote 365XCA-9-M3D-CBT at $899.99, and the ROMEO-X gun, 365XCA-9-BXR3P-M3D-RXSL, at $1,249.99. So the factory red dot adds $350 at list.
Those are SIG’s list prices, and what a dealer charges once guns land may differ. For scale, our catalog shows Bass Pro Shops selling the SIG P385 Full-Size Mach3D, another SIG pistol sold under the Mach3D name, at the same $899.99.
The date is the open question. The page is badged “COMING SOON!” and gives no availability date, and SIG has not put out a dated announcement for the pistol either, so the listing is the whole record as of October 8, 2026.
When it does ship, it comes under the SIG SAUER Infinite Guarantee that SIG prints on the page, which SIG describes as fully transferable with no receipts and no warranty cards.
SIG’s own tagline for the pistol is “Peak Performance. Everyday Carry.” The first half needs a shot timer. The second half needs a holster.
A real compensator. A real price. No date. That’s where it stands.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the SIG P365-MACH3D?
It is a 9mm SIG Sauer P365 with a factory MACH3D compensator attached to a 3.4-inch bull barrel. It uses an XMACRO grip module, has a SIG-LOC COMPACT optic cut and XRAY3 day and night sights, and comes with two 17-round steel magazines.
How much does the SIG P365-MACH3D cost?
SIG's product page lists the P365-MACH3D at $899.99 for the black and coyote iron-sight SKUs and $1,249.99 for the SKU with a factory ROMEO-X red dot. Those are SIG's list prices, and dealer pricing can differ.
When will the P365-MACH3D be available?
SIG has not given a ship date. The product page lists the pistol as coming soon and does not state when it will reach dealers.
Does the MACH3D compensator really cut muzzle rise by 30 percent?
That is SIG Sauer's claim. SIG says the compensator reduces muzzle rise by up to 30 percent, but it does not state the baseline gun, the ammunition or the test method. The pistol has not shipped, so the figure has not been independently tested.
How is the P365-MACH3D different from the P365-XMACRO COMP?
The XMACRO COMP has a compensator built into the slide over a 3.1-inch barrel and SIG lists it at 6.6 inches overall. The MACH3D has a separate compensator attached to a 3.4-inch bull barrel and SIG lists it at 7.2 inches overall. Both use the XMACRO grip and 17-round magazines.
Will the P365-MACH3D fit my P365 holster?
Do not count on it. SIG lists the MACH3D at 7.2 inches overall, longer than the 6.6-inch P365-XMACRO COMP and P365 XL, with a compensator on the muzzle. SIG lists no holster fit for it, so plan on a holster made for this model.
Does the P365-MACH3D come with a red dot?
One of the three SKUs does. The 365XCA-9-BXR3P-M3D-RXSL comes with a ROMEO-X SIG-LOC COMPACT circle dot installed and SIG lists it at $1,249.99, which is $350 more than the other two. Those are optic ready with a SIG-LOC COMPACT cut and no optic.
Does the P365-MACH3D have a manual safety?
No. SIG states that the P365-MACH3D is not available with a manual safety.
