The best Glock magazine for most people is still the one GLOCK makes. But aftermarket magazines from Magpul, ETS and Mec-Gar cost less or add steel, and the right choice depends on which Glock you carry, how many rounds your state allows and whether the magazine is for carry or the range.
So we priced every double-stack 9mm Glock magazine in the feeds of the 200+ retailers we track on October 25, 2026, read what the makers say about fit, and picked the nine worth buying, from GLOCK’s own seventeen to the thirty-three and a base-pad extension. Every pick has a live price box, so you can see the cheapest store today.

Which Glock Magazines Fit Which Glock?
Double-stack 9mm Glocks share one magazine design in different lengths, and the rule is simple: a longer magazine fits a shorter gun, but a shorter magazine won’t fill a longer grip. A Glock 17 magazine works in a Glock 19 or 26 with the base sticking out below the grip; a Glock 19 magazine works in a 26 the same way. That’s why the factory thirty-three fits every one of them.
- Glock 17, 34 and 45: 17-round magazines sit flush.
- Glock 19 and 19X: 15-round magazines sit flush in the 19; the 19X ships with seventeens.
- Glock 26: 10-round magazines sit flush; 15s and 17s stick out.
- Glock 43X and 48: different, single-stack-width magazines. See our best Glock 43X magazines guide.
Aftermarket magazines can have exceptions. Magpul warns that its PMAG GL9 “May not be compatible with the G19X without modification.” And GLOCK’s Gen 6 page says only that each Gen 6 pistol comes “including 3 magazines,” so if you own a Gen 6, test any aftermarket magazine before you carry with it.
1. GLOCK Factory 17-Round Magazine: Best Overall

- Capacity: 17
- Body: Polymer over a steel liner
- Fits: Glock 17, 34 and 45; works in a 19 or 26 with the base sticking out
- Price on October 25, 2026: About $23 to $28
Pros
- The reference every other magazine copies
- Ships with every new Glock 17
- Fits every double-stack 9mm Glock
Cons
- Costs twice as much as ETS
- Base sticks out of a 19
- Color versions cost extra
Every other magazine on this list is trying to match this one. GLOCK’s own seventeen-rounder ships with the Glock 17, and Gen 6 is no different: Classic Firearms lists the Glock 17 Gen 6 with “(3) 17 Round Magazines.” If you only buy one kind of spare magazine for a full-size 9mm Glock, buy this one.
On October 25, 2026 our feed had it from $22.99 at GunMag Warehouse, with Gen 4 and Gen 5 versions both in stock.
Best For: Glock 17, 34 and 45 owners, and anyone who wants the most proven spare.
2. GLOCK Factory 15-Round Magazine: Best for the Glock 19

- Capacity: 15
- Body: Polymer over a steel liner
- Fits: Glock 19; works in a 26 with the base sticking out
- Price on October 25, 2026: About $23 to $28
Pros
- Flush fit in a Glock 19
- Same price as the seventeen
- Ships with every new Glock 19
Cons
- Two fewer rounds than a 17
- Sits short in a full-size grip
- Not the cheapest fifteen

The fifteen-rounder is the magazine that sits flush in a Glock 19, the most popular Glock there is. Classic Firearms lists the Glock 19 Gen 6 with “(3) 15 Round Magazines,” so this is still the size GLOCK designs the compact around.
Our feed had it at the same price as the seventeen, from $22.99 at GunMag Warehouse. For carry, flush fit beats two extra rounds, so a Glock 19 owner should buy these first and add a seventeen or two for the range.
Best For: Glock 19 carry. Flush fit and factory reliability.
3. Magpul PMAG 17 GL9: Best Polymer Alternative

- Capacity: 17
- Body: Polymer with a stainless spring
- Fits: Most full-size 9mm Glocks; compact and subcompact with the base sticking out; may not fit the G19X
- Price on October 25, 2026: About $11
Pros
- Cheapest name-brand seventeen we found
- Flared floorplate is easy to strip
- Paint-pen dot matrix for marking
Cons
- Only one store had it
- May not fit the G19X
- All-polymer body is thicker
Magpul’s PMAG GL9 is the aftermarket magazine most Glock owners already trust from their AR magazines. Magpul says it “is compatible with most full-size 9mm GLOCK handguns, as well as compact and sub-compact variants with some protrusion below the grip.” Read the warning, though: it “May not be compatible with the G19X without modification due to the lip on the grip’s front strap,” per Magpul’s product page.
Only Target Sports USA had the seventeen in stock in our feed on October 25, 2026, at $11.07, which is less than half the price of the factory magazine.
Best For: Range and training magazines at a lower price than factory.
4. ETS 17-Round Magazine: Best Budget Magazine

- Capacity: 17
- Body: Translucent polymer
- Fits: Glock 17, 19, 26, 34 and 45 (the 19 and 26 with the base sticking out)
- Price on October 25, 2026: About $11 to $12
Pros
- See-through body shows the round count
- About half the factory price
- Clear and carbon smoke colors
Cons
- Polymer feed lips
- Fewer stores than factory
- Less proven than factory

ETS makes its magazines from translucent polymer, so you can see exactly how many rounds are left. One GritrSports listing says the 17-rounder “Fits Glock 17, 18, 19, 19x, 26, 34, 45, 49,” which matches the factory magazine’s fit.
In our feed on October 25, 2026 it cost $10.99 to $11.99 at GunMag Warehouse. At that price, buy several for the range and keep factory magazines for carry.
Best For: Range days, classes and spare magazines in a range bag.
5. Mec-Gar 15-Round Magazine (Glock 19): Best Steel Magazine

- Capacity: 15
- Body: Steel
- Fits: Glock 19
- Price on October 25, 2026: About $29
Pros
- All-steel body
- Flush fit in a Glock 19
- Bright follower
Cons
- Only one store had it
- Costs more than factory
- Heavier than polymer
Mec-Gar’s Glock magazines have steel bodies instead of polymer. The fifteen-rounder in our feed is listed for the Glock 19, so it sits flush like the factory fifteen.
Only Optics Planet had it on October 25, 2026, at $28.89, a little more than GLOCK’s own magazine. Buy it if you want a steel body; buy the factory fifteen if you just want the most proven option.
Best For: Owners who want a steel magazine body.
6. GLOCK Factory 33-Round Magazine: Best Extended Magazine

- Capacity: 33
- Body: Polymer over a steel liner
- Fits: Every double-stack 9mm Glock
- Price on October 25, 2026: About $33 to $56
Pros
- Factory made, not aftermarket
- Fits every double-stack 9mm Glock
- Six stores had it in stock
Cons
- Too long for carry
- Banned in capacity-limited states
- Costs as much as two seventeens
The factory thirty-three is the extended magazine to buy if you want one. MidwayUSA lists it as fitting the “Glock 17, 17L, 18, 19, 19x, 26, 34, 35, 47, 49,” because a longer double-stack 9mm Glock magazine fits any shorter 9mm frame.
On October 25, 2026 it ran from $32.99 at GunMag Warehouse to $56.49. It’s a range and backup magazine, not one to carry in a holster gun.
Best For: Range use, pistol-caliber carbines and a backup magazine at home.
7. Amend2 17-Round Magazine: Best Cheap Polymer Magazine

- Capacity: 17
- Body: Polymer
- Fits: Glock 17
- Price on October 25, 2026: About $15 to $17
Pros
- Among the cheapest in our feed
- Three stores had it
- Simple all-black polymer body
Cons
- Less proven than Magpul or ETS
- No see-through body
- Fewer size options

Amend2 is a budget polymer magazine sold at a lot of online stores. On October 25, 2026 our feed had the seventeen at Ammunition Depot, Bereli, Lotz Outdoors, from $14.99.
Treat it the way you would any budget magazine: test it with your carry ammo before you trust it, and keep it for practice if it gives you any trouble.
Best For: Cheap practice magazines.
8. GLOCK Factory 10-Round Magazine: Best for 10-Round States

- Capacity: 10
- Body: Polymer over a steel liner
- Fits: Glock 17 (GLOCK makes 10-rounders for the 19 and 26 too)
- Price on October 25, 2026: About $22
Pros
- Legal where capacity is capped at 10
- Factory reliability
- Full-length body fits the grip
Cons
- Only one store had the 17 version
- Same price as a 17-rounder
- Seven fewer rounds
Several states cap magazine capacity, often at ten rounds. If you live in one, a factory ten-rounder is the reliable choice, and GLOCK makes them for each size. Gen 6 pistols are offered with them too: Classic Firearms lists a Glock 19 Gen 6 with “(3) 10 Round Magazines.”
Our feed had the Glock 17 version at $21.99 from GunMag Warehouse on October 25, 2026. Check your state’s current rules before you order any magazine.
Best For: Owners in states that cap capacity at ten rounds.
9. Taran Tactical Firepower Base Pads: Best Extension

- Capacity: +2 to +5, depending on the model
- Body: Base pad and spring
- Fits: Glock 19 and 23 factory magazines (check the model)
- Price on October 25, 2026: About $31 to $36
Pros
- Adds rounds to factory magazines
- Two capacity options in stock
- Keeps your factory magazine body
Cons
- Changes your factory magazine
- Not legal in capacity-capped states
- Costs more than a new magazine

An extension turns a factory magazine into a higher-capacity one. Taran Tactical’s Firepower base pads replace the factory base plate and spring, and our feed had two versions for the Glock 19 and 23 on October 25, 2026: a +2 to +3 pad and a +4 to +5 pad, from $30.90 to $35.91 at Shooting Surplus.
Fit them to factory magazines, test them before you rely on them, and remember that an extended magazine may be illegal where capacity is capped.
Best For: Competition shooters and anyone who wants more rounds from factory magazines.
How Many Glock Magazines Should You Own?
Most owners should have at least three: one in the gun, one spare for carry, and one to rotate while you clean and inspect the others. If you take classes or shoot matches, five or six is a better number, and that’s where cheaper ETS or Magpul magazines make sense.
Carry magazines versus range magazines
Keep carry magazines to the most proven option, which for most owners is GLOCK’s factory magazine. Use cheaper magazines for the range, where a failure costs you a clearance drill rather than anything worse, and replace any magazine that stops locking the slide back or feeding reliably.
Check your state first
Several states limit magazine capacity, often to ten rounds, and some also restrict extensions. Check your state’s current rules before you order. Shopping for other Glock parts? Glock Magazine FAQ
What is the best Glock magazine?
For most people, GLOCK's own factory magazine: the 17-round for a Glock 17, 34 or 45, and the 15-round for a Glock 19. On October 25, 2026 both cost from $22.99 in our feed.
Will a Glock 17 magazine fit a Glock 19?
Yes. A Glock 17 magazine works in a Glock 19 or 26, with the base sticking out below the grip. A shorter magazine won't fill a longer grip, so a Glock 19 magazine won't sit right in a Glock 17.
Are Magpul PMAG GL9 magazines good for Glock?
Yes for most models. Magpul says the PMAG 17 GL9 fits most full-size 9mm Glocks and compact and subcompact models with the base sticking out, but warns it may not fit the G19X without modification.
What is the cheapest Glock magazine?
In our feed on October 25, 2026, ETS 17-round magazines started at $10.99 and the Magpul PMAG 17 GL9 at $11.07, against $22.99 for GLOCK's factory seventeen.
Do Glock Gen 6 pistols use the same magazines?
Gen 6 Glocks ship with the same capacities, 17 rounds for the Glock 17 and 15 for the Glock 19. GLOCK's Gen 6 page only says each pistol includes 3 magazines, so test aftermarket magazines in a Gen 6 before you carry with them.
Does the Glock 33-round magazine fit every Glock?
It fits every double-stack 9mm Glock, including the 17, 19, 26, 34 and 45. It isn't legal in states that cap magazine capacity.
Are steel Glock magazines better?
Not necessarily. GLOCK's factory magazines use polymer over a steel liner and are the most proven option. Mec-Gar makes all-steel Glock magazines for owners who prefer them.
How many Glock magazines should I own?
At least three: one in the gun, one spare for carry and one in rotation. Five or six is better if you take classes or shoot matches.
