Best Glock 19 Holsters (2026): 8 Picks and the Gen 6 Fit Question

The best Glock 19 holster for most people is the Safariland Species IWB: thin Boltaron, adjustable tension and cut for most carry optics, for about $56. If you carry appendix on a budget, the Mission First Tactical Minimalist, $39.99 list and often well under $35, is the one whose maker says, in so many words, that it fits Gen 3, 4, 5 and 6. And if you want to carry outside the waistband for less than $40, the Bravo Concealment BCA lists the Gen 6 on the same mold as the Gen 5.

That generation question is why this page exists. GLOCK released the Glock 19 Gen 6 on January 20, 2026, and every holster listing now has to answer whether it fits. Below are eight Glock 19 holsters for IWB, appendix, OWB, light-bearing and duty carry, with live prices from our 200+ retailers checked on October 25, 2026, and a table of what each maker or listing actually says about Gen 6.

Will Your Gen 5 Holster Fit a Glock 19 Gen 6?

In most cases, yes. GLOCK’s Gen6 announcement describes a palm swell, an extended thumb rest, an enlarged beavertail, an undercut trigger guard and a new optic-ready system with three plates. Those are grip and slide changes. When we compared GLOCK’s published figures for the Glock 17, the Gen6 matched the Gen5 on every outside dimension, and only the weight changed. A holster grabs the slide and trigger guard, so most Gen 5 molds carry over.

“Most” is not “all”, and the makers say so in different ways. Here is exactly what each maker or listing says:

Two patterns jump out. First, a maker that lists Gen 6 on one holster may not list it on another yet: Bravo’s OWB names it and its IWB doesn’t. Second, both Bravo and Henry rule out the Gen 5 Glock 23, so don’t assume “Glock 19/23” covers every 23. If your holster maker doesn’t name the Gen 6, test it unloaded: the gun should click in, hold upside down with a light shake, and come out cleanly. The tightest Kydex molds and optic-cut shrouds are where a Gen 6 is most likely to bind.

Optics are the other check. Safariland says plainly that it “cannot guarantee that RDS holsters will be compatible with non-factory” mounted red dots, and the Gen 6 uses GLOCK’s new plate system. If you run a dot, confirm the holster’s optic cut clears it.

Safariland calls the Species “a new species of Boltaron holsters”, and that’s the right summary: a minimalist IWB with Safariland’s fit and none of its bulk. Tension is adjustable, and Safariland lists the optics it clears, from the Romeo Zero and RMR CC to the Holosun 407K and 507K. Safariland lists it at $56.49, retailers on the card above start around $54.49, and PSA has it at $66.99.

It’s right hand only, and Safariland’s page doesn’t name a generation. My Gen 6 seated with the same click as a Gen 5, but run the unloaded test above before you carry, especially with a dot.

Best For: Everyday IWB carry at 3 to 4 o’clock.

2. Mission First Tactical Minimalist: Best Budget Appendix Holster

• Type: Appendix and 5 o’clock IWB, ambidextrous
• Fits: Glock 17, 19, 22, 23, 26, 27, 33, 34, 44, 45, 47, “Fits Gen 3, 4, 5, 6”
• Build: .08 Boltaron or Kydex, audible passive retention, adjustable 0 to 20 degree cant
• List price: $39.99 at MFT, less at retailers

The Minimalist is the cheapest way to carry a Glock 19 appendix, and it’s the only holster here whose maker writes “Fits Gen 3, 4, 5, 6” right in the product name. It covers the trigger guard and leaves the slide exposed, which is why one mold fits eleven Glock models.

MFT is upfront about the trade-off: “for safety reasons you must remove the minimalist from your belt for reholstering.” It’s a carry holster you put on with the gun already in it, not one you draw and reholster from on the range. The claw that pushes the grip in is for right-handed shooters; lefties use the included spacer.

Best For: Appendix carry on a budget.

3. Henry Holsters Cipher: Best Premium Appendix Holster

If you carry appendix every day, spend the money on a holster built for it. The Cipher is formed from .093 Boltaron with an open muzzle, a mid-height sweat guard and “generous clearance for optics and suppressor height sights”, on Discreet Carry Concepts Mod4 clips. Henry sells it from $108, and an Enigma version for belt-less carry costs more.

Henry’s fit table is the most specific here: Glock 19, 19X, the Gen 3-4 Glock 23 and the 45, and not the Gen 5 Glock 23. The card above also shows Henry’s Ember, which is built around a weapon light.

Best For: Serious daily appendix carry.

4. Alien Gear Photon: Best Light-Bearing Holster for the Money

• Type: IWB or OWB, ambidextrous; appendix, strong side, MOLLE or drop leg
• Build: Polymer, adjustable retention, cant and ride height, 2.8 oz
• Optics: Fits optics that don’t extend forward of the optic plate; suppressor-height sights OK
• List price: $49.99 at Alien Gear

The Photon is one shell that does almost everything: inside or outside the waistband, appendix or strong side, with or without a compact light. Alien Gear lists it at $49.99, and a retailer listing for the Glock 19 light version reads “Gen 1-6”.

Alien Gear’s fit note matters on a Gen 6 with a dot: it “will not fit optics that extend forward of the optics plate”. If you add a light, buy the light version for that light; the no-light shell won’t take one. See our best pistol lights for the TLR-7 X and other compact lights.

5. Bravo Concealment BCA: Best Budget OWB Holster

Bravo’s OWB Concealment Holster for Glock 19 is the clearest Gen 6 answer on this page. Its fit list names the Glock 19 Gen 5 and the Glock 19 Gen 6 on the same $39.99 mold, plus the 19X, 45 and MOS guns, and it clears tall sights, threaded barrels and most carry dots. Bravo also sells dedicated Gen 6 combo packages with a magazine pouch.

Two things to read on Bravo’s page: the Torsion IWB for the Glock 19 doesn’t list the Gen 6 yet, and neither holster fits the Gen 5 Glock 23. The card above shows the light-bearing BCA versions, which start under $30 at retailers.

Best For: Cheap, solid outside-the-waistband carry.

6. Safariland 7378 7TS ALS: Best Retention Holster

• Type: OWB, paddle and belt loop included
• Retention: ALS, locks automatically, thumb release on the draw
• Build: SafariSeven non-marking nylon blend, raised interior stand-offs
• List price: $97 at Safariland

The 7378 is the holster for range days and open carry: the ALS latch locks the Glock 19 in when you holster it and releases with a swipe of your thumb on the draw. Safariland lists it at $97 and retailers on the card above start around $71.

Retail listings label the Glock 19 version “Gen1-5”. Molded retention is where a small frame change can matter most, so test-fit a Gen 6 before you trust it, or buy from a seller that lists the Gen 6.

Best For: Range use and open carry with active retention.

7. Safariland 6360 ALS/SLS: Best Duty Holster

• Type: Mid-ride duty holster, Level III retention (ALS plus SLS hood)
• Versions: Standard and RDSO (red dot) versions, plus light-bearing models
• Price: Safariland lists the 6360 from $178, RDSO from $237

For uniformed or security work, the 6360 is the standard. ALS locks the gun in, the SLS hood adds a second layer, and Safariland says the gun “can be drawn straight out of the holster with no twisting required”. The 6360RDSO is built for red dot guns, with Safariland’s warning that it can’t guarantee fit with non-factory mounted dots.

Safariland lists the standard 6360 from $178. Retailers on the card above had Glock 19 versions from about $147.

Best For: Duty belts and security work.

8. Galco Combat Master: Best Leather Glock 19 Holster

• Type: OWB pancake, butt-forward cant
• Build: Premium steerhide, double-stitched; the 2.0 adds a raised sweat guard and an optic cut
• Belts: Up to 1-3/4 inch
• List price: $165 for the 2.0 at Galco; retailers from about $86

If you want leather, Galco’s Combat Master 2.0 is a high-riding steerhide pancake with a butt-forward cant, a raised sweat guard and a cut for most carry-style optics, at $165 from Galco. One retail listing for the 2.0 names the “Glock 19 Gen 1-5” and “Glock 19 Gen 6” together.

The card above mixes the 2.0 with the original Combat Master, which starts around $86 at retailers and isn’t cut for an optic. If you run a dot, make sure you’re buying the 2.0.

Best For: Outside-the-waistband carry under a jacket.

How to Choose a Glock 19 Holster

• Carry position first: Appendix wants an AIWB holster like the Minimalist or Cipher. Strong side wants an IWB like the Species. Outside the waistband, the BCA or Combat Master.
• Light or no light: A light changes the shape of the gun completely. Buy the holster made for your exact light.
• Optic: Check the maker’s optic list. Forward-mounted or oversized dots are what fail to fit.
• Generation: If your holster maker names your generation, you’re done. If not, test-fit unloaded before you carry.
• Retention: Passive tension is fine for concealed carry. Open and duty carry want ALS or Level III.
