Optics & Sights Brands FAQ

Red dot, LPVO or magnified scope – which do I need?
A red dot is fast and simple for close work; an LPVO (1-6x, 1-8x, 1-10x) does close and medium range from one optic; a magnified scope is for precision and distance. Match the optic to how far you actually shoot.

Are budget optics any good now?
Yes – value brands like Holosun and Primary Arms have changed the game, offering durable, clear optics for a fraction of premium prices. Premium names like Trijicon and Leupold still lead on glass, durability and warranty.

Do I need a special mount?
Often yes. A quality optic deserves a quality mount at the right height for your rifle and cheek weld. Many of the brands here also make mounts and rings; check the brand page.

What does battery-free or tritium mean?
Some sights (notably Trijicon) use tritium and fiber optics to glow without batteries, so they are always on. Others are battery-powered red dots with long run times. Both are reliable; it comes down to preference.
