Our rating: 8/10. Hidden Hybrid Holsters make the most comfortable inside-the-waistband holster I’ve worn, and they cost $89.95 for the standard IWB models. The leather backer bends with you when you sit, the Kydex shell holds the gun tight, and every one is made to order in Canton, Ohio. What keeps it from a 9 is the hardware: a bag of screws with no instructions, a cant that slips, and no click when the gun seats.
I’ve carried a Glock 19 in the Appendix Single Clip and the IWB & OWB Double Clip for about a year, in the truck, at the desk and at the range. Below is what each model costs once you add options, which add-ons exist, what the warranty really covers, and four hybrid holsters you can buy off the shelf today if you don’t want to wait two weeks.

Carry positions come from Hidden Hybrid’s FAQ, written for a right-handed shooter with 12 o’clock at the belt buckle. Prices are for a right-hand Glock 19 Gen 6 holster in solid black Kydex on October 26, 2026. Left-handed shooters mirror the positions.
Who Makes Hidden Hybrid Holsters
Hidden Hybrid is a family-owned shop in Canton, Ohio. The founder started it in 2011 in his garage, because, in the words of the company’s own story, all-leather holsters lost their shape while all-Kydex ones “felt like a giant Lego pinching your side by the end of the day.” The answer was a hybrid: Kydex for the gun, leather for you.
Every holster shares the same build. The shell is .093 inch Kydex molded to one specific pistol. The backer is 9 to 10 oz cowhide with a suede face, which Hidden Hybrid buys from Amish leatherworkers near the shop. Two screws set the retention, the clips adjust for ride height and cant, and the leather is cut low enough at the grip for a full firing hand on the draw. Each one is made to order, and the FAQ says holsters ship in 14 days or less.
What a Hidden Hybrid Holster Really Costs
The base price is only the start. Every option is priced in the store’s product data, and they stack:
| Option | Added cost |
|---|---|
| Carbon fiber Kydex (black, coyote, FDE, OD green or storm grey) | +$10 |
| The Claw, on single clip and small of the back models | +$10 |
| Left-hand draw | +$5 |
| Extra polymer belt clips, 1.5, 1.75 or 2 inch, per pair | $12.95 |
| Leather soft loops, per pair | $17.95 |
| Slim IWB mag carrier | $49.95 |
A right-hand Glock 19 appendix holster in black is $89.95. Make it optic ready, carbon fiber and add the Claw, and the same holster is $124.95, or $129.95 left-handed. Shipping is free once an order reaches $125, so that fully loaded holster just misses it. Hidden Hybrid also offers 10% off to military, veterans, police and first responders by email, and local pickup at the Canton shop.

Appendix Single Clip Review: The One Most People Should Buy
- Carry: Appendix to strong side, 12 to 5 o’clock
- Shell: .093 inch Kydex, two retention screws
- Backer: 9 to 10 oz leather, suede face
- Clip: One, adjustable for height and cant, tuckable
- Options: The Claw, carbon fiber Kydex, left hand
- Price: $89.95 for a Glock 19
Pros
- Most comfortable holster I’ve carried
- Covers the magazine release
- Shirt tucks in over it
Cons
- Cant slips under finger pressure
- Long screw can poke through
- No click when gun seats
This is where the leather earns its money. At appendix, an all-Kydex holster digs in every time I sit in the truck. The Single Clip bends with my body instead, and the suede holds it in place without sweating through my shirt. After a full day, the only thing I noticed was the top edge of the sweat guard on a hot afternoon.
The draw is smooth. My thumb rides on the leather backer as the gun comes up, and the shell let go cleanly once I set the retention. It passed the upside-down shake test with the longer screws in. Reholstering is fine because the leather never collapses, but there’s no click to tell you the gun is home, so I push until it stops and then check it by hand.
With a Glock 19 it still prints when I bend over. The Claw, a $10 option, is a wing that pushes against the belt and rotates the grip in, and I’d order it next time. A smaller gun hides much better.
Best For: Appendix and strong-side carriers who sit a lot and want comfort over minimal size.

IWB & OWB Double Clip Review: Best for Hip Carry
- Carry: Inside the waistband at 3:30 to 5 o’clock, or outside the belt
- Clips: Two 1.75 inch clips; belt slots fit up to a 1.75 inch belt
- Leather: Black or brown
- Price: $89.95 for a Glock 19
Pros
- IWB and OWB in one holster
- Two clips spread the weight
- Black or brown leather
Cons
- Wide footprint for appendix
- Tight to get on the belt
- No Claw option
The Double Clip is the classic hybrid layout: a wide leather backer with a clip on each side. Two clips spread a full-size gun’s weight better than one, which is why it’s the more comfortable choice at the 4 o’clock position. Take the clips off and the belt slots turn it into an outside-the-waistband holster for range days.
It’s a fight to get on. With both clips over a stiff gun belt, I had to work it on a little at a time. Once it’s on, it doesn’t move. Pair it with a real gun belt, not a dress belt, and see our best gun belts for concealed carry. The belt changed how this holster carries more than any screw did.
Best For: Strong-side carriers who want one holster for daily IWB carry and OWB range use.

OWB Holster: The Cheapest Hidden Hybrid
The OWB model is the same Kydex shell on a pancake-style leather backer with belt slots, and at $69.95 for a Glock 19 it’s the cheapest holster Hidden Hybrid makes. Hidden Hybrid says to wear it from 2 to 5 o’clock. The shell is flared at the top for smooth holstering, and the two retention screws work the same as on the IWB models. If you carry under a jacket or open carry on your own land, it’s an easy pick. If you need to hide the gun under a T-shirt, buy one of the IWB models.

Small of the Back Holster: Read the Draw Before You Order
The Small of the Back model is worn between 5 and 7 o’clock with a palm-out draw: you reach back with your knuckles against your spine and grab the grip from behind. Hidden Hybrid warns that this makes a right-hand holster look like a left-hand one out of the package, and that’s correct. If you want a palm-in draw from behind the hip, it tells you to order the right-hand appendix holster instead.
I don’t carry at 6 o’clock. Sitting on a gun in a car seat is hard on your back, and the draw is slow. But if you’ve decided that’s your position, a leather-backed holster is far kinder to your spine than plain Kydex, and this one costs the same $89.95.

Optic-Ready and Light-Bearing Options
The Optic Ready appendix holster is cut to clear a slide-mounted red dot. For a Glock 19 it starts at $104.95, $15 more than the standard appendix model. Single clip, Claw and color options are the same.
Light-bearing holsters exist too, and some reviews say they don’t. They’re sold as a paid option on the gun’s product page rather than as their own models. The store’s option list includes the Streamlight TLR-1, TLR-3 and TLR-6, SureFire XC1, Inforce APL and APLc, Viridian C5 and several Crimson Trace lasers, at $10 to $20 extra. I didn’t see the Streamlight TLR-7 or TLR-8 on that list, so if you carry one of those, contact Hidden Hybrid before you order.
Setup: Screws, Spacers and Retention
Opening the box was the worst part. You get the holster, extra screws of two lengths, small rubber spacers, and no instructions. It took me a while to work out that screw length sets retention: a short screw pulls the Kydex closer to the leather and grips the trigger guard harder, and a long screw backs it off for a smoother draw. I settled on the long screws.
Two problems came with that. Tighten a long screw far enough and its tip can poke through the back of the leather, right where it meets your skin. And the grommets spin when you turn the screw, so getting one snug meant holding the grommet with pliers, which marked my Double Clip’s clips. A hex grommet or a captive nut would fix both for pennies. Hidden Hybrid sells a Single Clip Holster Fastener Set for $9.95 and a 4-in-1 retention wrench for $13.95 if you lose hardware.
What I Didn’t Like After a Year
- The cant slips. The clip rides in a slot and only the screw head holds it. Even fully tight, finger pressure moved it, and pushing the holster into my waistband was enough to shift it a few degrees.
- No click when the gun seats. The Kydex holds the gun well, but you won’t hear it lock in. Push it home and check it.
- The polymer clip never feels locked on. It held, but it doesn’t grab the belt like a steel clip. The Double Clip’s metal clips feel more secure.
- It prints with a full-size gun. A Glock 19 at appendix shows when you bend. Add the Claw, or carry something smaller.
- You wait for it. Holsters are made to order and ship in up to 14 days.
None of that stopped me carrying it. The comfort is the reason, and nothing off the shelf I’ve tried matches it.
Warranty and Returns: The Fine Print
Hidden Hybrid advertises a lifetime warranty and a 30-day “One Question Return Policy,” where the one question is how they could have done better. Both are real, and both have limits worth knowing before you order:
- The warranty covers the leather and the Kydex, for defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. The clips are treated as consumables and aren’t covered. Replacements are cheap.
- Returns are 30 days from delivery with no restocking fee, including holsters cut for lights, lasers and optics, and every Kydex color. The item has to be unmodified, with your invoice.
- You pay shipping both ways on a return. Per the refund policy, shipping charges and custom work charges are non-refundable, the original shipping cost is deducted from your refund, and you pay to send it back. That also applies to warranty work.
A holster that doesn’t suit you will cost you shipping both ways, not the whole price. For a made-to-order holster, that’s fair.
Which Guns Do Hidden Hybrid Holsters Fit?
A lot of them. On October 26, 2026 the store listed more than 850 holster products covering more than 230 pistol models from 20 makers, including Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson, Glock, Springfield Armory, Heckler & Koch, Ruger, CZ, Walther, 1911s, FN, Beretta, Taurus, Kimber, Canik, IWI, PSA and Staccato. New guns show up fast: there are already holsters for the Glock 19 Gen 6, the Ruger RXM and the Smith & Wesson Shield X.
Each shell fits one gun. Hidden Hybrid says plainly that it doesn’t make interchangeable shells, so a Glock 19 holster is a Glock 19 holster. Check the generation, too: the Glock 19 Gen 6 has its own listing, separate from the one for Gen 5 and earlier. For more Glock options, see our best Glock 19 holsters.
Hidden Hybrid Alternatives You Can Buy Today
Hidden Hybrid sells only through its own store, so there’s no live price card for it here. If you want a hybrid holster without the two-week wait, these four are sold by the retailers we track. Each card shows several gun fits, so pick the listing for your pistol.
CrossBreed SuperTuck. One of the best-known leather-and-Kydex hybrids. It’s the same idea as the Double Clip: a wide cowhide backer, a Kydex shell and two clips for hip carry.
Galco KingTuk Deluxe. Galco’s Kydex-on-leather tuckable holster. On October 26, 2026 it had the lowest trusted-retailer price of these four.

Black Point Tactical Mini Wing. A leather and Kydex IWB hybrid, sold at Palmetto State Armory and Sportsman’s Warehouse.
Alien Gear Cloak Tuck. A tuckable IWB holster with a Boltaron shell, and Palmetto State Armory sells a Glock 19 version. Our concealed carry holster guide and Tenicor review cover all-Kydex options.
Should You Buy a Hidden Hybrid Holster?
Buy one if comfort is the reason you leave your gun at home. If all-Kydex holsters dig into you at appendix or in the car, this is the fix, and the lifetime warranty on the leather and shell means you’ll only buy it once. The Appendix Single Clip with the Claw is the one I’d order.
Skip it if you want the smallest, lightest rig, a light-bearing holster for a TLR-7, or a holster that’s set up perfectly out of the box. And if you’re new to inside-the-waistband carry, read our IWB vs OWB guide and appendix carry guide before you pick a model.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are Hidden Hybrid Holsters any good?
Yes. They are among the most comfortable IWB holsters you can buy, with a .093 inch Kydex shell on a 9 to 10 oz leather backer with a suede face. We rate them 8/10. The weak points are the hardware: no instructions, a cant that can slip and no click when the gun seats.
How much do Hidden Hybrid Holsters cost?
For a Glock 19, $69.95 for the OWB, $89.95 for the Appendix Single Clip, Double Clip or Small of the Back, and $104.95 for the Optic Ready appendix model. Carbon fiber Kydex and the Claw add $10 each, and left-hand adds $5. Shipping is free on orders of $125 or more.
Where are Hidden Hybrid Holsters made?
In Canton, Ohio. Each holster is made to order by hand, with leather from Amish leatherworkers near the shop. The company was founded in 2011.
How long does Hidden Hybrid take to ship?
Hidden Hybrid says holsters ship in 14 days or less, and holidays can add time. Every holster is made to order.
Does Hidden Hybrid make light-bearing holsters?
Yes, as a paid option on the gun's product page. The option list includes the Streamlight TLR-1, TLR-3 and TLR-6, SureFire XC1, Inforce APL and APLc and Viridian C5, at $10 to $20 extra. We did not see the TLR-7 or TLR-8 listed.
What is the Hidden Hybrid lifetime warranty?
It covers defects in materials and workmanship on the leather backer and Kydex shell under normal use. Belt clips are treated as consumables and are not covered. You pay shipping to send a holster in for warranty work.
What is the Claw on a Hidden Hybrid holster?
A $10 add-on mounted near the trigger guard. It pushes against your belt and rotates the grip and magwell in toward your body, which reduces printing. It is offered on the single clip and small of the back models.
Can I return a Hidden Hybrid holster?
Yes, within 30 days of delivery with no restocking fee, including holsters cut for lights or optics. It must be unmodified with your invoice. Shipping and custom work charges are not refunded, and you pay return shipping.
