Quick take: Derya has added two short .22 LR pistols that run TM22 magazines: the $249 TM22 Fresh and the $599 RANX Mag Fed. Both have threaded barrels, so the pitch is small, cheap to feed and ready for a can.
- What it is: The TM22 Fresh is a semi-auto .22 LR pistol with a 6.5-inch threaded barrel and a folding brace, and the RANX Mag Fed is a lever-action .22 LR pistol with a 12-inch threaded barrel.
- Price: Derya lists the TM22 Fresh at $249 and the .22 LR Mag Fed version of the RANX at $599.
- Where: Derya’s release says both are available through its U.S. distribution and factory channels, and Derya also runs a dealer locator.
- Why it matters: The Fresh costs the same as the 18-inch TM22 Timekeeper rifle, and it uses the same 10- and 15-round TM22 polymer magazines.
Most new .22s are either a fresh coat of paint on an old rifle or a target pistol nobody takes anywhere. These two go after a different buyer. We pulled the spec tables straight from Derya so you don’t have to, and the tables, the release and the photos do not agree on everything.

The TM22 Fresh Is the Timekeeper Money in a Backpack Size
Derya’s TM22 Fresh page calls this the TM22 platform in “its smallest, most playful format yet.” MSRP is $249, and Derya files it under Pistols.
The barrel is a 6.5-inch rifled target barrel threaded 1/2×28. Overall length is listed at 13.5 inches, weight at 3.2 pounds, width at 1.96 inches and height at 7 inches. Derya does not say whether the 13.5 inches is measured with the foldable Fresh brace closed, and its side-on photo shows the brace open.
The action is semi-automatic, the grip is AR type, the forend is M-LOK and the finish is black anodized aluminum with black polymer. Derya’s release puts the Triffling Trigger at 2.5 pounds. One 10-round and one 15-round magazine come in the box, and Derya says 25-round aftermarket magazines work too.
Budget for a sight. That photo shows flip-up sights on the top rail, but the spec table reads “Front Sight: N/A” and gives the rear sight as “Full Top Picatinny Rail,” with Derya pitching the rail at micro red dots.
Here is the comparison that will decide a lot of sales. The TM22 Timekeeper has an 18-inch threaded barrel, runs 36 inches overall, weighs 4.85 pounds and also lists at $249, so the same money buys you either 11.5 inches more barrel or a gun that is 22.5 inches shorter and 1.65 pounds lighter. Both cost $110 more than the $139 TM22 Standard.
Where the RANX Mag Fed Differs From the Centerfire RANX
The centerfire RANX is a tube-fed lever pistol in .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum and .45 Long Colt. The Mag Fed shares its listing on Derya’s RANX Pistol page as a second configuration, labeled .22LR (MAG FED).
The page headline shows a $599 to $899 range, which looks confusing until you pick a configuration. Select each one in Derya’s own store and the price resolves: $599 for the .22 LR Mag Fed and $899 for the centerfire models, a $300 gap. Derya’s release gives the same $599 MSRP.
Beyond the magazine, the receiver changes too. Derya says the mono-block is “steel on centerfire models, aluminum on the .22 LR MAG FED.” The barrel stays at 12 inches, threaded 1/2×28 with a 1:16 twist on the Mag Fed, and the release lists an Ironwolf adjustable pistol grip, an M-LOK forend, a rebounding hammer safety and a 4.4-pound trigger.
Sights are a fixed front and an adjustable rear, plus a Picatinny rail for an optic. The box includes one 10-round and one 15-round TM22 magazine.
Two Things to Check on the Mag Fed Before You Pay
First, the numbers. Derya’s release gives the Mag Fed as 22.95 inches long and 5.73 pounds unloaded. The shared RANX table on the product page prints one set of figures for every caliber, 22.83 inches and 5.48 pounds, so go by the release for this model.
Second, the brace. All three Mag Fed product photos on Derya’s listing show a folding brace on the gun, one of them with the Steel Fang name on it and one with the gun packed in its box.
But Derya’s written copy ties “STEEL FANG PSB” to centerfire models, and the Mag Fed feature list in the release names a pistol grip and no brace. Ask your dealer what is on the gun before you put money down.
Why $599 Is the Harder Sell of the Two
Derya already sells a magazine-fed .22 lever gun. The TM22 Lever is a 20-inch rifle at 38 inches overall and 5.3 pounds, and it lists at $399.
So the Mag Fed costs $200 more than that rifle, gives up 8 inches of barrel and 15.05 inches of overall length, and still weighs 0.43 pounds more. You are paying for the pistol format, the M-LOK forend and a much shorter gun to carry around. If that is what you came for, it is the only .22 LR lever gun in the Pistols menu on Derya’s site.
Dustin Jones, Vice President of Derya Arms, frames the pair as “two different markets, both going shorter.” He also said “we’ve got more coming,” so the TM22 family is not done. On the numbers, the Fresh is the easy buy at $350 less, 9.45 inches shorter and 2.53 pounds lighter than the Mag Fed, while the lever gun is the one you buy because you want a lever gun.
Threads, Braces and What the Paperwork Looks Like Now
Neither gun comes with a suppressor, but both are threaded for one, and federal rules have moved a long way this year. Under 26 U.S.C. 5811 the federal transfer tax on a suppressor is now $0.
On October 9, 2026, ATF said in an open letter that it “will no longer require individuals to seek ATF approval” under the NFA for making or transferring suppressors and some other items, and our report on ATF’s NFA guidance walks through the five limits it listed.
That letter calls itself a “change in enforcement policy,” which is not the same as a repeal, and it says plainly that it does “not affect state or local laws that govern NFA weapons.” A suppressor that is fine federally can still be a crime where you live.
On the brace side, ATF’s 2023 stabilizing brace rule is gone. The agency’s own May 6, 2026 Federal Register proposal says the Northern District of Texas “vacated the final rule in its entirety in June 2024,” and it proposes to strip those paragraphs out of the regulations and “rely on the statutory language without further elaboration.” The statute still defines a rifle by whether a gun is intended to be fired from the shoulder.
State law is the other wall. Derya marks the Fresh as not California compliant, with Maryland and Massachusetts pending. The shared RANX table says no for California and Massachusetts and pending for Maryland.
When You Can Buy the TM22 Fresh and RANX Mag Fed
Derya’s release says both guns are available through its U.S. distribution and factory channels, but it does not name a street price. As this goes up, Derya’s store data shows the Mag Fed configuration as purchasable and in stock, while the Fresh listing carries an out of stock flag, so start with a dealer on that one.
Both carry Derya’s limited lifetime warranty, which goes to the original customer and is non-transferable.
Same magazines. Same threads. Very different reasons to want one.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much is the Derya TM22 Fresh?
Derya lists the TM22 Fresh at an MSRP of $249. That is the same MSRP as the TM22 Timekeeper rifle and the TM22 Feather.
How much is the RANX Mag Fed?
The .22 LR Mag Fed configuration of the RANX is $599 on Derya's site. The RANX listing shows a $599 to $899 range because it also covers the centerfire models, which are $899.
What magazines do these guns use?
Both run TM22 polymer magazines in 10- and 15-round sizes, and both come with one of each. Derya says the Fresh also takes 25-round aftermarket magazines.
Are the TM22 Fresh and RANX Mag Fed threaded?
Yes. Both barrels are threaded 1/2x28. The Fresh has a 6.5-inch barrel and the RANX Mag Fed has a 12-inch barrel.
Does the TM22 Fresh come with a brace?
Yes. Derya says it comes equipped with a foldable Fresh brace. Derya's spec table does not say whether its 13.5-inch overall length is measured with the brace folded.
Does the RANX Mag Fed come with a brace?
Derya's Mag Fed photos show a folding brace on the gun, but its written copy ties the Steel Fang PSB to centerfire models and the Mag Fed feature list in the release names a pistol grip and no brace. Confirm with your dealer before you buy.
Can I buy these in California, Maryland or Massachusetts?
Derya marks both as not California compliant. The Fresh is listed as pending for Maryland and Massachusetts, and the shared RANX table is pending for Maryland and no for Massachusetts. Check your state's rules on braces and threaded barrels too.
Do I still need ATF approval for a suppressor on one of these?
ATF said on October 9, 2026 that it will no longer require individuals to seek its approval under the NFA for suppressors, with five limits it listed. That is an enforcement policy and not a repeal, and it does not change state or local law.
