Lithgow Arms Atrax Bullpup F90
We’re partial to a bullpup round here. We just like them.
So this one from Lithgow Arms tickled our fancy. The Lithgow Arms Atrax Bullpup is a sexy gun that we want to add to our collection.
Yes it has that sci-fi feel, it’s cheesy but it does. You also get a rail right along the top and a small one underneath at the front, too. So you can go full Tacticool with the flashlight or lazer.
You get 30+1 rounds of 5.56 NATO, so this is really a designer AR-15 for the bullpup connoisseur. Yes, they will have to be a gun connoisseur, because this one costs almost $2000.
It comes with a short stroke action, a 16-inch barrel and a 27-inch overall length. It weighs in at 7.17lb, yeah that’s quite a lot, but then bullpups tend to be a bit heavier and we can forgive it an extra pound or two. There are practical reasons to opt for this design, too, you can comfortably us it with a heavy winter jacket and gloves.
This is a civilian version of the Steyr bullpup and the F90 line of rifles looks to be a full and proper licensing deal. That’s why this is an expensive gun, because it is literally a military application converted for the street.
The Austrian military carry the proper Steyr version with integrated grenade launchers and selective auto fire. You don’t get that, but you do get a rifle that’s accurate to 550m.
For me, it’s all about the look. This is a sexy looking gun and sometimes that’s all you need to pull the trigger, so to speak.
If you don’t have at least one bullpup in your gun collection, how do you know what you’re missing? Tavor will provide you with a much cheaper one, and the Kel-Tec is so good it’s the wildcard on our list of the best AR-15s for $1000 or less.
But this is a cut above.
