Kel-Tec KSG Pump Action 12-Gauge Shotgun
We’re a big fan of mean-looking guns that do the business here, and the Kel-Tec KSG is fast turning into one of the best 12-gauge shotguns in the world.
You get at least 15 2 and 3/4 inch rounds, including one in the chamber. But people have got forced 25 mini shells into this thing.
For home defence, that might be the best option.
Kel-Tec KSG Slides Under The Regs
You take in shells from either the left or right tube, but you’ll need to shift the tube selector over manually, which will take the wind out of your sails if you need to unleash a barrage.
Get used to flicking the lever, though, and the Kel-Tec is an incredibly fast shooter.
That little feature also ensures the KSG bullpup pump action shotgun slides under the laws in some states that limit the number of rounds and would otherwise render the Kel-Tec illegal.
You get Picatinny rails on the top and bottom, with the top rail also providing the sight.
Kel-Tec KSG: Light And Minimalist
This gun is stripped down to the bare essentials, which means it weighs just 6.9lb and the 26.1 inch length means it’s pretty much the shortest pump-action shotgun you can legally buy.
So if you are looking to buy shotguns online and you’re not sure about your local laws, the KSG cleverly skirts them and you’re good to go.
It’s one of those guns that you can just sit and stare at. It’s futuristic, military-grade hardcore. The South Korean army, of all people, use them. They have seen limited service with the US military too and some private security have been known to take this lightweight gun into the field.
You can spend a little more and have the Tungsten finish, or more still and have a tan Cerakote finish for desert camouflage.
But the basic black version is the one we like best. It’s a rugged, tough little gun that packs an almighty punch.
Kel-Tec KSG In The Movies
This slick little shotgun has featured in the John Wick films, in the hands of Keanu Reeves’ lead character. The Kel-Tec KSG also made an appearance in Terminator Genisys, when Kyle Reece unleashed hell upon the machines.
Crossbones carried a KSG in Captain America Civil War and this movie-friendly gun also appeared in Suicide Squad, Batman vs Superman, The Purge and A Good Day To Die Hard.
It’s easy to see why, it’s an intimidating looking thing.
Watch A Special FX Zombie Head Get Wasted
We’re still not sure what the hell this video is, but basically they’re shooting a fake zombie head with the Kel-Tec, so it’s sort of relevant…
