Agency Arms M&P 9mm Urban Combat
- Price: $2,139.95
- Caliber: 9mm Luger
- Barrel: 4.25 inch
- Total Length: 7.4 inch
- Capacity: 17+1 Rounds
Agency Arms don’t just do custom Glocks and this Smith & Wesson is an absolute work of art. They have the Desert tan and black two-tone model, rather than black on black, right now…
We like it.
It’s the M&P model with a 4.25” barrel, a 7.5” overall length and a 17+1 round capacity.
So, it’s pretty much Glock 19 size and that means Agency Arms could adapt the tuning program and bring the full Urban Combat slide set to the Smith & Wesson family. That’s the lightest slide Agency Arms offers and it’s all in the name of reduced recoil and muzzle climb.
Check them out and other custom Glocks here.
Custom S&W Handgun is Gun Porn
The custom Smith & Wesson pistols also look absolutely stunning and this one in particular is a rare specimen. There is no wild combination of colors, no mirror finish slide and no gold barrel.
The black on black gun is stunning, but the desert tan frame does offer something different.
This is a total pistol rebuild and Agency Arms goes to work on the frame, the slide, it fits a new barrel and a totally bespoke trigger set with Apex Tactical Specialties parts.
It weighs just 1.5lb, it could easily replace a Glock 19 as a daily carry and some people just genuinely prefer the look of the Smith & Wesson to begin with.
What Does Agency Arms Do To Your M&P?
You get custom Dawson Precision sights, the bodywork is stippled to Agency Arms’ legendary standard and this is just an enticing weapon for this money.
That stippling is a standalone option if you want to send your weapon to them. Gun owners claim it’s arguably the best value proposition of the Agency Arms package.
As with all Agency Arms conversions, it’s set up to take an RMR and you get a blanking plate if you don’t want one. You also get an accessory rail on the bottom for a tactical lamp or a front-mounted laser sight.
Agency Arms Spreads its Wings
It’s an endorsement in itself that a company that has aligned itself so closely with Glock, the watchword for quality, has produced a tuning program for the Smith & Wesson at all.
At this price, we think that you wouldn’t regret this buy. It will stand out even among Agency Arms Glocks, you can pimp it out a little more with contrasting parts if you want to go full bore. But we really don’t think you have to.
This is a tastefully done conversion and we’d love to own this gun. We figure before too long, somebody will.
Other Options For This Money
Now the elephant in the room is this, $2000 is a hell of a lot of money for a plastic pistol. It just is.
But plenty of people are spending it. So what else is there waiting for your money?
When it comes to Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 pistols, Wetwerks has some of the best modified handguns on the market. Again, they aren’t cheap guns…
You can say the same for Danger Close Armament, which makes a mean custom Sig P365 for the same sort of money.
What about an S&W PC Handgun?
You can also spend a lot less money and have a Smith & Wesson Performance Center handgun.
Honestly, if value for money is even a thing, that’s the way to go.
What is the Smith & Wesson Performance Center?
The Smith & Wesson Performance Center is the in-house custom gunsmith that combines big brand R&D and manufacturing with bespoke craftsmanship. The end result is a tuner gun without a massive price tag.
Check out the full range of Smith & Wesson Performance Center handguns here.
Some of Agency Arms’ natural rivals have come up with cheaper, slicker alternatives to the Agency Arms custom Glocks. You can see some of them here.
Our favorite rivals for the Agency Arms Urban Combat is the all-metal ZEV Tech OZ9, the John Wick Combat Master Glock 34, just because it’s John Wick’s gun, and the Grey Ghost Precision Combat pistol.
They’re all great, but they’re all custom Glocks. So what other custom pistols can you buy off the peg?
Quite a few if you know where to look.
Rainier Arms has a great selection of custom 9mm handguns from the likes of Agency Arms, Nighthawk Custom and Danger Close Armament.
Where to Buy Smith & Wesson Parts & Accessories
It isn’t exactly hard tracking down parts, accessories, upgrades and more for your Smith and Wesson M&P9 2.0. It just depends whether you’re looking for Stock parts or serious custom gun upgrades.
Brownells has a great selection of basic spares & repairs for your Smith & Wesson. Rainier Arms, meanwhile, has the fancy coated drop in barrels and triggers that you really want, but come with the higher price tags.
