You can level up to the handpainted and finished Palmetto State Armory Custom rifle. But we kind of like the cheaper version that you can order in matte black, Flat Dark Earth, Oliver Drab Green or a whole load of color combos.

A lot of people upgrade to the 4 inch buffer tube and swear it makes a major difference to reliability.

It does everything you would basically expect from an AR-15, but the 9mm won’t over penetrate like rifle calibers. Felt recoil ir next to nothing as well.

This takes a Glock magazine, is optics ready, comes with a moly steel match spec barrel, and is pretty much perfect for the job.

It also has the last round bolt hold open mechanism that really works, and a chunky magazine release button. We like the carbine buffer tube too.

This rifle weighs a little more than some, but it is almost designed to mimic an AR-15, down to the heft in your hands. It is competition ready if you want to try out shooting sports like 3 Gun too.

You Could Buy a Pistol-Carbine Conversion

Now these really aren’t rifles/handguns, they’re both. These plastic conversion kits have space for your 9mm Luger Glock, S&W M&P or Canik TP9 to slot home and it kind of works as an AR pistol.

The charging handle pulls the slide back and a round into battery, a lever action trigger guard safety is there and there’s an integral tactical light on the Roni kit at least.

You even get a slot for an additional Glock mag, which is kind of tactical gear we guess. and it’s easy to set it up for left handed shooting. You do get a much longer sight radius, too.

I mean these conversion kits don’t really work as well as a proper 9mm AR pistol, so honestly buy one of those instead. But it’s here, for informational purposes…
